For Wayne, Earl’s Place and you are his last, best hope.

Together, we are changing lives!
Wayne is just 47 years old. His life has been filled with hardship. Raised in a home where abuse was common, his childhood was far from nurturing. At just 15, his father gave him his first beer. He says it was great—it took away his fear and started him on a path of addiction. After many years, Wayne did manage to get sober. For sixteen years, he worked in treatment centers as a peer recovery specialist, helping others who were going through what he had. But life threw him another curveball and unfortunately, after years of sobriety, Wayne relapsed.
But again, he found the strength to turn things around. Just as he celebrated three years sober, he received a devastating diagnosis: end-stage cirrhosis of the liver. Without stable housing, he wasn’t eligible to be placed on the transplant list. His family—what little remains—has offered no support. His mother stopped taking his calls, and his father is lost in his own addiction. With no family support and nowhere to turn, Wayne's situation became more dire.
That's where you and Earl's Place come in. If he remains housed, he might finally be added to the transplant list. This is his last, best hope.
